Quite by accident, I realized this morning that today is my 6 months anniversary with StumbleUpon. Yippee, you say? Well, for me it is a big deal! Thousands of stumbles later, my websites have benefited from a nice surge in traffic, I have connected with other stumblers, and I have bookmarked at least two dozen sites found while stumbling.

What Is StumbleUpon?

I won’t repeat what has been said several times by others about this nifty tool, so I’ll let SU (the abbreviated name for Stumble Upon) describe what they are all about for themselves:

Channel surf the internet with the StumbleUpon toolbar to find great websites, videos, photos and more based on your interests. StumbleUpon learns what you like and makes better recommendations.

I have blogged about SU in the past as have DoshDosh, Rambling Traveler, Tamar Weinberg, and many others. I recommend that people read a variety of guides to get the most out of SU.

Averaging 28 Stumbles Daily With 133 Fans

StumbleUponAs the picture to the right shows (got eye strain?), I have as of this writing 5155 positive stumbles and 133 fans. Check my statistics now and those figures have likely changed. For the first few months I wasn’t that active of a stumbler, but now I am making up for lost time and reaping the benefits. I think when July is said and done I’ll match my previous five months total combined. Yes, there are days when I have stumbled 200, even 300 pages leaving plenty of reviews in my wake too.

End Of The Stumbling Road

Stumble UponThis picture shows a message I have been getting a lot lately — I have come to the end of my stumbles for a particular category, in this case Cars. At least six other categories are also showing this message, underscoring one thing: I really must get a life! Or, change my categories…

I…Must…Stumble…

Let’s face it — if there was a Stumblers Anonymous (SA) organization, nearly three million people around the globe would qualify. The only trouble with a 12-step program of this type is that we’d all show up with our laptops and have a stumble love-in. Talk about failing a self-help program! ;-)

How about you? Are you a stumbler? If so, hit me up and add me as a friend (I have a few places left). I’ll return the favor, stumble your pages, and leave the occasional review.

Happy stumbling!

Addendum: Ray And Laura Are My Secret SU Winners!

Congratulations to Ray of Freshblogger and Laura of Writing Thoughts as these two stumblers were the winners of today’s Secret SU Contest — I blogged ALL of their pages, left comments on their blogs, and left SU comments scattered throughout the blogosphere. Best wishes and let’s hope that this effort prompts some SU juice for you both.
