This morning I logged onto the state of North Carolina website, the section for corporations and small businesses, knowing full well that this is the week I would have to pay my annual LLC fees. I fully expected a long and detailed form to fill out, but was stunned to learn that all that the state wanted from me was two or three personal bits of information and my $200 filing fee. That’s it.

I had anticipated that I was going to be embroiled in a paperwork nightmare, but I wasn’t. Instead, it was a five minute ordeal and nothing more.

Taxes are a part of life, so this fee is fairly inconsequential to me. Still, I thought there was much more involved with completing my 2007 LLC filing, but certainly that wasn’t to be.
