Preparing For 2007
At this date in time, seven years ago, my wife and I were preparing for what we fully expected to be a nonevent, what is infamously known as the Y2K debacle. At that time we were busy getting our paperwork together to adopt our first son, but we set aside some extra jugs of water just in case.
2007 is looming with no special concerns being all that apparent. As usual, the world scene remains unclear, demonstrating the utter folly of a humankind that leans on their own ways, not God’s way. Okay, maybe I am sounding all the bit of a religious zealot, but if you know of a way to truly bring peace on earth and goodwill to humankind that will truly last, please tell me about it.
I will likely save the bulk of my planning for 2007 for the days between the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. I have already been updating my sites since September to reflect that they carry a 2007 copyright, but I need to also work on a revised pricing structure and blogging schedule that I can live with. If anything, I have promised myself to take on less of those mass marketed, cheap article projects and concentrate instead on press releases, web content, and select article writing, plus the occasional book review.
I’ll also use that interim week to file my annual LLC report to the state of North Carolina and start getting my 2006 income tax information organized. Hopefully, I’ll have my taxes done and submitted by early February 2007 which is distinctly possible if I set aside the time to just get them done.
