Article Wise…How Does He Do It?

What sets this site apart from others is that Article Wise allows authors to share in the Google AdSense income generated through clicks to the articles. Specifically, if you have an AdSense account you can insert your publisher’s number and the ads that appear next to each article you submitted will generate income to your account, not Article Wise’s account.
The manager of this directory contacted Google to make sure that this wasn’t some sort of violation of AdSense policy and he posted online what he says is the reply he received from Google. In all appearances it does not violate program use.
I wrote an article, Save Big Money on Business Cards, and submitted it to Article Wise as a test of the system. While it is too knew to tell if I have received any clicks — I assume there is a few days delay with this arrangement — I think it is a worthy and unique arrangement.
I do believe that Article Wise does make money off of some ads appearing elsewhere on the site, but I wonder if the person managing the site can maintain this practice for long? Indeed, many article sites exist purely for the ad revenue potential, not the article side of things.
Time will tell!

Hey, I was checking my visitor logs and stumbled onto your blog.
I appreciate the post about my site: Articlewise.com.
It seems that I have generated a little buzz from letting authors advertise adsense next to their articles.
People ask me why do I let other people share in the profits of my site?
Well mainly it is because I felt like authors should be rewarded for their efforts other than just getting added inbound links and hits to their site.
Also, I needed a way to get people to submit to my directory. With all the Article Directories popping up over the last couple months, it has been difficult to place well in the Search Engines.
Their has been a ton of ArticleDashboard directories emerge. Although a lot of these directories are using the same articles on their sites and I think they are getting penalized for it in the search engines.
By the way, I am a “Condi” fan myself. Referring to the book you are reading. I’ll have to check it out.
Interesting Blog I’ll be back!
Welcome, Scott! Best wishes with your new endeavor.
I agree, there are so many “Article Dashboard” directories out there. What you are doing is taking a different, unique path.
In a related matter, I wrote an article about the abundance of article directories out there titled, “So Many Article Directories, So Little Time.” I believe managers of every directory must differentiate themselves from the pack, otherwise they will certainly not attract who they need most: writers.
Here is a link to that article:

I read your article, ?So Many Article Directories, So Little Time.? I would like to comment on it.
Ezine Articles is a great article directory. They are one of the first article directories on the web and probably the most successful. It is easy to see that Christopher Knight is a great webmaster and editor.
For many professional authors that take their work seriously and are worried about copyright infringement and strict editorialy standards, submitting to one of the “cookie cutter” Article Dashboard sites is not very appealing.
However, for many webmasters it is not really about quality, it’s all about the quantity of directories they can get back links from. They do not worry about the fact that other articles on the site are terrible and need to be edited, heck they don’t even read the other articles. They only care about submitting their eye catching (a lot of the time written by a pro) informative and interesting articles to as many sites as possible.
Having to submit to sites that are not very user friendly is a pain, but that can be outsourced just like the article writing.
I have submitted articles to many of the “Powered by: Article Dashboard” sites. You can tell that the owners of many of these sites have put a lot of time into their sites. Some even have good pagerank. I have been following a couple of these sites in the search engines and have seen the best ones never rank in the top 30 in Google, one was ranking 2nd in MSN then suddenly disappeared. I am worried that these sites are getting penalized by the engines because of reprinted content from site to site. I guess time will tell.
