The Best of Honda

It has been 35 years since the very first Honda models made their American debut. The Civic, a tiny subcompact car was the first model and it was followed a few years later by the Accord and then the Prelude. Today, the Prelude is gone but the Civic and the Accord march on. Honda’s line up has expanded tremendously since its early days and now with the introduction of the subcompact Fit, the Honda brand expands once again. Let’s take a look at the Honda models that are currently shaping a world leader:

Accord – Just three years after the Civic was introduced to the U.S. market, the Accord family car was introduced. After the Toyota Camry, the Accord is the top selling car in the U.S. Credit Honda workmanship and constant improvements for its success: every few years the Accord receives a complete update. Today’s Accord is now available in three models: coupe, sedan, and hybrid.

Civic – When Honda was introduced to the US market, it was the Civic that started it all. Known for low maintenance cost and high fuel economy, the car arrived just in time as America began to go through its first fuel crisis. Today’s Civic is larger and better equipped than the original and is available in three models: coupe, sedan, and hybrid. Keep yours running well with genuine honda auto parts.

CR-V – Available as either a FWD or 4WD model, the CR-V is Honda’s compact SUV with seating for five passengers. Only buy the best auto exhaust system for your high profile ride.

Element – The Element defies easy categorization. Resembling one of the Scion cars it competes against, the xB, the boxy Element is available as a FWD or 4WD vehicle.

Fit – Honda’s newest model is a throw back to yesteryear. Not in design, but in size as well as in price. As the Civic has been pushed slightly up market, the 5-door Fit jumps in and offers owners high fuel mileage at an affordable price, retailing for just over $13,000.

Insight – The first gasoline-electric hybrid ever sold in the US was the Insight. Now, seven years later it still plays an important part of the Honda line up.

Odyssey – The new benchmark for all minivans is the Honda Odyssey. Within just a few years, Honda transformed a vanilla people hauler into a van with zest. The Odyssey routinely competes with the Toyota Sienna for top honors in the North American market, although the Chrysler minivans remain the top sellers.

Pilot – As a seven passenger sport utility vehicle, the Pilot is Honda’s first big SUV. Its chief competition is in the Ford Explorer, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, and the Dodge Durango. Keep your Pilot riding clean with genuine catalytic converters.

Ridgeline – A four door all wheel drive truck, the Ridgeline is a true beast among more pedestrian models. Yes, other Hondas come equipped with AWD or 4WD, but the Ridgeline was built expressly to go off road as well as to navigate the highway. Its unusual five foot long bed has a trunk built into it, so unquestionably the Ridgeline is in a category all of its own.

S2000 Roadster – Honda’s sport side is evidenced in its S2000 Roadster a two seat coupe that compares advantageously with the BMW Z4 Roadster. Keep your S2000 running right with an ACT Clutch.

So, there you have it: ten great models from a leading automaker. Honda’s are sure to please…have you driven one lately?
