Renault Updates Its Snazzy Clio
Weeks ago I mentioned that the Renault Symbol was being updated, but unfortunately it isn’t a model that will be sold in the United States or in Canada anytime soon.
As recently as the late 1980s, Renault had a presence in my part of the world, selling its little LeCar and a handful of other models. Besides its own brand, Renault owned the American Motors Corporation (AMC) which controlled Jeep. When Chrysler bought out AMC, they maintained a few Renault models on its new Eagle line, but gradually got rid of those cars too.
Since then, no Renaults for Americans and Canadians, which is too bad because from the look of things their cars have vastly improved since exiting the domestic market.
Anyway, Renault has me on their list so I’m sharing with you some photographs of the next generation Clio which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show (March 5-15, 2009).

Renault's minicar, the Clio, has been a mainstay for the automaker since its introduction in 1990. Freshly updated, Renault claims that the Clio offers class benchmarks in cabin space, road holding, safety and comfort. The next generation model will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Carminat TomTom, the first fully integrated and affordable GPS navigation solution. Renault's latest navigation solution has been co-developed with TomTom and will be dual branded. The navigation solution, easily updateable on the internet, has a large colour screen, and will include traffic and speed limit information, as well as safety camera locations.
