NASCAR Puts Driver Fines To Good Use
In an effort to put a positive light on a negative situation while doing something good, NASCAR has announced that
driver fines will now be given to the NASCAR Foundation for charitable initiatives. This means that every time the sporting organization fines one of its drivers (and fine amounts are often thousands of dollars) one of the recipient organizations funded by the NASCAR Foundation will benefit.
The NASCAR Foundation supports a large number of charitable organizations providing a wide variety of assistance including:
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation which supports child advocacy, education and wildlife preservation.
The Kasey Kahne Foundation raises and donates funds to charitable organizations that care for chronically ill children and their families.
The Bobbie Scruggs Memorial Foundation which makes annual scholarship grants to young men and women pursuing a career in motorsports as well as grants to support cancer research and prevention.
The Victory Junction Gang Camp which provides a special place for chronically ill children to find respite in a medically-safe and sound environment.
The next time you see one of your favorite drivers break the rules, just imagine his pocket being emptied while the coffers of a NASCAR charity are funded!

It’s a great idea and I hope FIA – Fomula 1′s governing body follows their good example and put the fines they impose to good use…

Driving Course, I agree. The governing bodies are rolling in the cash, why not share the wealth with organizations who need the money?

Excellent initiative.
