Must Have Dodge Challenger!
Although the local Raleigh, NC auto show was a flop, Chrysler still had the presence of mind to ship one copy of its not-yet-released 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to the show. And what a beauty it was!
The 2009 Dodge Challenger
Sure, the car could have easily been given the 2009 model year designation especially since the first of the lot will not roll out much before May, but I understand why it is this way — a limited amount will be sold, thereby driving up the value of the few 2008s out there.
This week’s New York Auto Show is featuring the Challenger again, but this time Chrysler is showcasing the 2009 models. I must tell you, I really do like the looks of these wheels, particularly the white R/T pics which follow with just a few of my comments…

…I like the lip over the front grill…

..the built in navigation system…

…please, just let me drive this thing
(I promise I will let ‘er rip)…

…looking good from the side…

…and finally, a complete breakdown of the safety and security features for the 2009 Dodge Challenger:

Chrysler says that the base model will retail in the low 20s, which I take to be around $23K when rolled out this fall. As you probably already know the current SRT8 is listed at $37,995, but I doubt that any will be leaving dealer lots without a $10K or higher premium added.
Way to go, Chrysler!

Wow, that is pretty nice looking. I really like the front and interior. the only thing I don’t like is how the roof connects down to the rear. Looks strange to me, not sure why.

Hi Brandon. Maybe because it is arched in a certain way? In person, the car flows nicely — these photographs may not give an accurate depicton of the rear quarter.

Funny, I was going to mention the same thing as Brandon. Other than that it’s an awesome looking car.
MattK, would be nice if you could make the security image clickable to a larger image. I’d like to be able to read the features.

Norcal, Chrysler supplied a photograph that is 500 px wide, I have it shown as 400. Hover over the picture, right click your mouse to View Image, and the slightly larger copy will appear.
I think they could have supplied a larger drawing, but if you magnify it, you should be able to make out what it says.
If I can get a larger picture from them, I’ll post that one instead.
