“Can’t Miss” Automotive Resources!

I’ve found some additional automotive sites on the internet that may be of interest to you. Last week I mentioned three sites, today I’ll be talking about four sites.

I came across the Ask Patty site more than a year ago when I kept turning up some press releases about the site. Intrigued, I read one release and then navigated my way over to the site to see what it was all about.

Yes, Ask Patty is a site for the ladies as their banner reads Automotive Advice For Women. This makes sense for a couple of reasons: Women purchase about half of all new vehicles in the U.S. and women typically get taken advantage of more than men when it comes to purchases, repairs, etc. Plenty of helpful information on the site including vehicle reviews, repair advice, car comparison, and more. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of guys sneak a peek too!

I remember when the saying, “Drive a Datsun, then decide” was played over and over again on the radio and t.v. Since then, Datsun has become Nissan and Nissan introduced Infiniti, the Japanese automaker’s luxury division.

The Nissan Infiniti Car Owners (NICO) Club was established in 2000 and has experienced a phenomenal growth, in part to a website featuring all things Nissan/Infiniti. The site features a thriving forum with more than 50,000 members and over 2 million posts. In addition you can find a marketplace, technical articles, resources, and a whole lot more. Take a closer look at the site and you’ll see that NICO operates several model specific sites too.

I started Auto Phat with the idea of featuring some modified vehicles along with a bit of bling*bling. Along the way I kind of missed the turn and ended up focusing on generic auto stuff.

If you like your car with all of the latest mods on it or you have an exotic car in the first place, then Madwhips is the site for you. You can take photographs of your ride and upload them to the Madwhips site for all of the world to see. Honda owners have the most uploads followed by BMW and Porsche. So, all of you Toyota, Dodge, and VW owners need to make a statement by uploading your rides too. Check out that Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 — awesome!!

Truck and SUV owners will want to head over to 4WheelOnline.Com to check out this on-line store’s bulging inventory of goods. On this site you can find a comprehensive collection of lift kits, supension lift kits, tonneau covers, fender flares, ATV plows, nerf bars, and hundreds of other products.

Prices on 4WheelOnline.Com are lower than the market rate with ongoing discounts and specials a big aspect of what this site is all about. Free shipping is available for some products shipped within the U.S. but the company does ship internationally too.

So, that’s it. Four sites worthy of your visit each unique in their own right. I’ll be featuring more sites after the midFebruary, so please keep an eye on this site.

  4. Thanks Matt, for featuring NICOclub.com!

Jody, we’re hearing the same thing - there have been some big changes during Nissan Corporate’s move from Gardena CA to Nahville. The marketing department has seen a “shift” (no pun intended) to a more gender-diverse team.

We’re doing our part as well - We’ve found that a disproportionate amount of our traffic at http://www.NissanOnlineMechanic.com is female, which is great!

We’re happy to be a place where anyone can come and get the “straight scoop” on vehicle repairs (not just Nissans) from our team of factory techs and skilled enthusiasts.

  8. Its really unfortunate that now even in 2008 many car dealers turn away female customers with a poor attitude. We’re working really hard to rectify this - many of our longest standing customers are women and more often than not its the ladies who control the purse strings!

  10. KLN — I believe people are finally wising up to the way consumers shop. If you appeal to their specific needs, then you’re likely to get the customers in who will actually follow through and purchase something. Our local Ford dealership recently opened a contained play area for children — you can bet that mothers like it!
