Lexus LF-Ch Concept Hybrid Compact: Woot!

Making its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, this Lexus concept is everything that most hybrids aren't: attractive, sporty and fun to drive.
Making its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Lexus LF-Ch compact concept hybrid is everything that the Lexus HS 250h isn’t – attractive, sporty and more than likely fun to drive. Though currently in the concept stage, there isn’t any good reason why Toyota won’t be building the LF, which is good news for people who want a car that goes beyond the typical hybrid model’s dowdy looks.
L.A. Debut Set
Apparently, Lexus wants to gauge customer reaction more fully as they announced that the LF-Ch will make its North American debut at the 2009 L.A. Auto Show this December. Indeed, Mark Templin, Lexus division group vice president and general manager said, “We look forward to hearing feedback on the LF-Ch. We hope consumers like what they see so we can change the luxury hybrid marketplace again.”
Los Angeles is the perfect venue for the hybrid Lexus, a show known for having a significant number of environmentally friendly vehicles on display as well as being the host of Green Car Journal’s annual Green Car of the Year award.

A blackened B Pillar gives this Lexus concept a coupe-like look.

No doubt about it, the LF-Ch blends sporty good looks with hybrid efficiency.
Designed In California
The five-door Lexus LF-Ch features an aggressive grille with a wide front bumper and air dam. A blackened B pillar gives an illusion that the car is a coupe while its overall chiseled appearance suggests that this isn’t your everyday hybrid. Plenty of leather and metal touches can be found in the cabin of the car, across the dash, on door panels, around the instrument panel and on the seating surfaces. In addition, all of the Lexus gadgets and gizmos customers expect will be included from the latest cabin technology highlights to today’s safety features.
Designed by Toyota’s Newport Beach, California research and design center, the LF-Ch offers 2+2 seating and is powered by the latest generation of Lexus Hybrid Drive technology. Toyota says that a drive mode-switch allows for the driver to choose between four operating modes: Normal, Eco, and EV plus a Sport mode. That last mode has a feature that amplifies throttle response, designed to appeal to drivers who crave raw power.

Check out the amazing seats, with built-in video display for rear passengers. The interior is awash in leather and metal touches with a blue headliner light offering ambient lighting for a lounge feel.

It is about time Lexus brought out a car such as this.
I have been partly attracted to the Lexus for a while now but not enough to go and purchase one!
However if this is the shape of Lexus it will not be long before i will be driving one.

Agreed! The Lexus 250h is disappointing, a mild reworking of the Toyota Prius, itself a bland model. If Lexus keeps most of its styling in place, the concept LF-Ch could be a success. Stay tuned….
