It's Show Time!

The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) a/k/a as the Detroit Auto Show opens to the public today. For the next nine days, visitors to the Cobo Center will be treated to all of the latest offerings from the major automotive manufacturers, view concept vehicles and learn where the auto industry is going. Having spent several days this past week as part of the show’s press preview contingent, I can tell you that your visit will be enjoyable.

Among the newly introduced vehicles on hand will be latest versions of the Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram pickup trucks; the Nissan Skyline GT-R race car; the Toyota Venza — a crossover sedan; and many new offerings from other manufacturers. Check out the Chinese vehicles on display in the lobby area and make sure that you visit Volkswagen to see the new Passat CC. In addition, concepts such as the Chevy Beat, Groove, and Traxx are on display as are two concepts from Cadillac, the Provoq and the CTS coupe. As usual Jeep’s display is off the wall (or on it) and the Smart display is likely to be of interest to show goers.

Adult tickets are $12 (seniors 65 and over pay $6) while children 7-12 pay $6. Children age 6 and under get in free when accompanied by a parent. The show opens bright and early this morning at 9.

For additional show information please follow what I have been writing on this blog over the past week. Interviews with GM management, photos, product reviews and more can be found herein. Enjoy!
