The ruggedness is the Hummer’s appeal. Too bad that they didn’t get a chance to produce the Hummer H4 as that vehicle has the size and look of the Jeep Wrangler. Maybe the new owners will build that concept after all.

The H1 hummer seems too rugged looking for the younger generation. With respect to limousines, the H2 and H3 are quite popular.

That is a good observation, Rita. Hummer and Jeep are both sport utility vehicles (SUV), but they are sometimes described as jeeps instead of an SUV.

Jeep is a brand name owned by Chrysler as you said, with Hummer currently owned by General Motors (GM) with a pending sale to a Chinese company in the works to transfer ownership.

Sometimes people call vehicles like the Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rovers, and Hummer “jeeps” even though they are made by someone else. In this case they mean a type of vehicle not a brand.

I love Hummer is one the best vehicles made, but I need to know why Hummer is called Hummer jeep. Is there a brand of Hummer that is called Hummer jeep? I know Jeep is a brand from Chrysler.

The limousine hummer is something fantastic. If you ever get a chance to get a limousine service then ask for the hummer limo if its available. It is quite a treat and you wont be disappointed at all. I have sat in a few limos in my time but the hummer limo was the best by far.

After reading the history of the hummer on this site, I now have a greater appreciation of the hummer vehicle. Even though most people would not consider buying it in todays time due to the high gasoline prices, it is one the most luxurious and well built machines by mankind.
