GM’s Resurgence, From The Top

General Motors, well down the road to changing its image by overhauling its product line, is making this most evident with their Cadillac and Saturn divisions. While visiting with GM during the 2008 NAIAS, I learned that the company no longer feels that it must offer 6 or 7 vehicles per brand.

Instead, expect GM to combine their brands to offer customers what they want. This means that Buick, Pontiac and GMC vehicles can be found at one dealership avoiding vehicle rebadging and offering customers the widest variety of cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs. Every GN brand is likely to carry several variations of the same model, particularly as hybrid vehicles enter the fleet. For example, starting in 2009, the Saturn VUE will be sold in several gasoline powered variations as well as offering two distinct hybrid models for their customers.

The following video from coBRANDiT offers clips featuring the General Managers of Cadillac and Saturn and what they have to say about their respective brands.
