It is still more than six months from being released, but that hasn’t stopped the Ford Motor Company from keeping the buzz building for its all new subcompact, the Fiesta.

Based on the successful European designed variety that has sold more than 500,000 copies since its introduction last fall, the North American market will see the 2011 edition when the first cars roll off of an assembly line in Mexico.

Summer 2010 Pricing

Fresh off of its official introduction at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, pricing for the sporty subcompact has been set by Ford. Including shipping, the standard four door sedan will retail for $13,995 while the five door hatchback has been set at $15,795. Those prices will keep the Fiesta in line with what many of its competing Asian models go for, thanks to the decision by Ford to build these cars in low cost Mexico.

Ford is eager to make sure that customers know that its entry level market will soon sport two, all new models. Right now, the aged North American spec Focus holds sway, a car that isn’t the same model as what is currently being offered in Europe.

As part of the automaker’s One Ford strategy, mostly all small and midsize Ford cars will be the same across all global markets. The Focus itself will be replaced following the Fiesta’s debut.

Order One Now

One more way that Ford is keeping the buzz going with the Fiesta is by launching a dedicated web page on the Ford site for people to reserve an order. These non-binding reservations allow customers to build their car now for possible purchase later.

For those who decide to jump in early Ford will sweeten the deal by offering SYNC with navigation and a premium sound system at no extra charge. This offer isn’t available on the Fiesta S model; Ford will allow customers to take a $595 credit if they’d prefer.

Ford will give customers until May 3, 2010, to sign a purchase contract with their Ford dealer. If they don’t, then there is no further obligation.

To participate, you will need to sign up now through April 2, 2010. By doing so you’ll receive personal updates about your car over the coming months and be put in touch with a Reservations Consultant.

If you have questions you can call Ford’s Fiesta specialist at (800) 301-8348.
