American Muscle Returns: The 2008 Dodge Challenger

Unless you have been sleeping under a rock, you heard that today was the official world debut for the 2008 Dodge Challenger, the car that takes its styling cues from the first generation Challenger of the 1970s. For us middle-aged guys who couldn’t afford the original model when it came out, the new Challenger will likely be snapped out by guys (and gals) having their midlife crisis. At a price of $37,995 for the SRT8 (shown), consumers have to be financially secure to put down the monies to secure their ride. For the record: I can’t afford to have a mid-life crisis!

The following photographs were released by Chrysler LLC today including the first one showing its debut at the Chicago Auto Show. My favorite photo is where the first generation Challenger faces off with the current model as if to pass the torch of muscle car greatness down to the new kid on the block.

Enjoy the photos! Vroooooooom!

It’s fantastic to see the Dodge Challenger roaring down the highway once again. These are an awesome car with lots of bottom end something newer performance cars seem to lack. This car is a real standout and I like it in black. Add a line lock system and let the burnouts begin.
