Welcome, Auto Phat Readers!

I shut down my other automotive blog, Auto Phat, as I decided that all of my auto-writing energies needed to be poured into one site. This change was part of my overall plan to sell off some sites and close down some other ones. Instead of being spread so thin, the consolidation should actually improve The Auto Writer, which already boasts more than 600 entries.

Over the coming months, I plan on taking a closer look at industry trends, particularly the separation of Chrysler from DaimlerChrysler; the development of fuel efficient vehicles; and include additional model-specific information.

So, if you found this site while reading Auto Phat — welcome to you! Feel free to add your comments too.

Searching The Mustang Forums

The strength and ever growing popularity of the internet has brought about the creation of thousands of web-based communities of people who share a similar passion for what they like to do with their time. On the automotive side of things, forums dedicated to various makes and models have sprung up including one that I recently came across called the Mustang Forums. When I learned about the site I fully expected to find a decent sized community of perhaps a few thousand dedicated Mustang enthusiasts. Boy, was I proven wrong! With more than 50,000 members, the Mustang Forums is one of the largest forums of its kind.

I guess I shouldn’t have been too surprised by the size of the site as the Ford Mustang has quite a following dating back to when the first Mustang rolled off the assembly line as a 1964 1/2 model. So popular has the Mustang been down through the years, that it has evoked copycat models from General Motors, the Chrysler Corporation, and American Motors. Still, year in and year out the Mustang has remained the perennial favorite and, today, it is the only pony car currently in production.

You can find mostly anything on the forums including Mustang Classifieds to information about the various Mustang Clubs across the USA and Canada. Lots of topics are covered on some 44 separate forums plus various subforums that comprise the site including tech help, pimping your ride, future Mustang offerings, the coming competition in the form of the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger, and too much more to mention here.

So, if you are excited about the Mustang check this forum out. I am certain that you will be as impressed as I am with the Ford Mustang forums.

Aftermarket Parts Store Emphasizes Performance

One of my newest clients is the Best Performance Auto Parts store, an online retailer of aftermarket parts for power enthusiasts. I’ve written and distributed a press release for this company to tout their line of performance parts.

One thing many people do not realize about aftermarket performance parts is that they are usually much more efficient than OEM parts. You can usually get more horsepower, better torque and even see a slight increase in fuel mileage. How? Because these parts allow your engine and/or exhaust to breathe freely. Insteading of restricting power, parts such as a cold air intake can give your engine the food that it wants to eat. In this case cold air is much more desirable than hot air to help generate power.

The site features an article feed and comes with a Bargain Bin to showcase discontinued or special priced items for sale.
