Is the CTS even in need of an expansion though. I think Cadillac and GM in general should be making little 4 cylinder SRX models instead of a luxury wagon. Very little of the population will be looking to buy a luxury station wagon. I saw the Provoq at the New York auto show and can't believe that Cadillac is not using that body with a modified 4 cylinder engine. Just my opinion of course. The CTS wagon will be available in the US, but it’s primary market is Europe, where luxury wagons are commonplace.

I agree that the CTS wagon probably won’t be a hot seller here — we already have the SRX — but it GM may sell just enough units to keep in Cadillac showrooms.

I am excited about the expansion of the CTS brand though. With the standard sedan, CTS-V, wagon, and coupe, the CTS will be a complete offering, allowing Cadillac to compete against the likes of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes — a generation ago this would not have been possible.

I am eagerly awaiting to see the CTS sports wagon. Actually I am waiting to see how many people will actually buy one. I think making the CTS into a family vehicle is the biggest mistake that Cadillac has made in recent years. The CTS is a sports car not a wagon, it would not surprise me if regular CTS sales go down also. I know I would not buy a sports car that also has a wagon in the line up.
